(What is surprising, however, is that Reece - who is exactly my type as he’s Lucy’s big brother’s best friend - is not my fave of Layne’s male love interests, but I digress.) This is a second chance romance where Lucy and Reece somehow find themselves on a cross-country road trip together years after they broke each other’s hearts… and you can imagine for yourself the shenanigans that ensue. Unsurprisingly, I am also able to say that I really enjoyed reading Love Story. Good Girl was a fun read, and it definitely reminded me how much I enjoy Lauren Layne's writing and made me want to read more from her. Layne's brand of humor and heart really did shine in these pages, and I enjoyed Jenny & Noah's story (especially those last two chapters). I'm a sucker for stories like this one, since they're very much reminiscent of the fanfics I used to write as a teen (though much more mature, if you catch my drift). Things heat up (literally and figuratively), and the two of them must decide just how far they're willing to go for each other when they're from two very different worlds. She finds her solace in Louisiana when she rents a house, though her peace isn't quite so complete with the presence of an unexpected distraction in the form of the hot caretaker Noah.
This romance is all about America's sweetheart, singer-songwriter Jenny Dawson, who is looking to escape the scrutiny of the public and papparrazzi.
I'm happy to say that I enjoyed Good Girl, which is the second in the Love, Unexpectedly companion novel series. After thoroughly enjoying Blurred Lines earlier this year and after Rachel convinced me to, I downloaded more Lauren Layne titles in March.
